Strong leaders must be able to see the big picture, make good connections and get on with achieving positive results.
But what happens when “not so smart” leaders get elected or take over a company?
One basic quality that every successful leader must have is intelligence, which is usually measured by the Intelligence Quotient or IQ. We do not want dumb leaders. We want them to be at least as smart as we claim to be.
The time has come for us to go beyond IQ and EQ (emotional quotient or emotional intelligence ) to include something new called DQ (or the Decency quotient). It is time for us to make decency an explicitly desired quality for leaders.
This piece unpacks what it means and where to start.
